Tech Rocket is an online learning platform, built by iD Tech, for kids and teens to learn valuable STEM skills, year-round and on-demand. There are online learning channels in Programming languages like Java, C++, Python, and iOS app development, and also Game Design tracks including Minecraft Modding and other popular 2D and 3D platforms. There’s also an online forum to post questions or talk to the social community, Live Coaches to help with courses via chat, and other cool features that make learning fun!
Tech Rocket has been built with kids and teens in mind, but anyone can register. All learning channels in code, game design, and graphic design feature interactive courses and fun tutorials, in a gamified learning environment, designed to keep the interest of students 10-18.
At Tech Rocket, safety is our top priority. That’s why we abide by all COPPA compliance rules and regulations. If your student is under 13 years old, we will not email them. Our Minecraft server has filters to monitor language, and we have a dedicated staff representative that monitors all activity on the social forums; all posts are manually approved before publishing. The Tech Rocket team has been well-trained on creating a fun, secure learning environment, and strives to uphold this standard!
There are a lot of websites out there that cater to different age groups, needs and wants. Tech Rocket excels at teaching kids and teens valuable, in-demand STEM skills in a fun learning environment. We want students to feel like they’re “playing Tech Rocket” when taking code, game design, and graphic design courses. Why wait until college to explore a future in programming or game design? With professional-grade software, flexible payment options, on-demand access, and various support channels, we want Tech Rocket members to be completely satisfied with their learning experience and to connect with others.

Tech Rocket has been built for our young learners. We understand that many kids and teens are just starting out. Each subject has an introductory course for beginners that will get them started with the fundamentals. So long as students have basic reading comprehension and can follow directions, they will be ready to tackle a course in coding, game design, or graphic design!
Learning is available on-demand from anywhere! Tech Rocket offers online learning in programming, game design, and graphic design. In each of these learning paths, there are channels – in each channel are multiple courses. For example, in the programming learning path, Java and Python are just two of the channels offered. These channels have an introductory course, followed by more advanced courses for students to deepen their knowledge. Courses consist of many short tutorial videos where the instructor teaches specific concepts and ideas. Once a video is viewed, students get to apply what they have learned with practice, examples, visual comprehension hot-spots, and quiz questions. After completing the course and all course challenges, students get an official iD Tech certificate.
Courses are self-paced, so it depends on the time invested, your student’s age, and competency in the given subject. Generally, courses contain many chapters and challenges, and take hours to complete.
Introductory courses are not required - students can start any course at any time. Starting with the introductory course is recommended for beginners to learn the basics. A refresher for more advanced students is always good practice too!
Congratulations, young conqueror! Tech Rocket members can do a lot with their certificates! Share them with family and friends, place them on your refrigerators, show your teachers to demonstrate your extracurricular studies, or include them in college applications.
Wow, off to a great start! If your student has taken all of the courses in a given subject - say Java for example – they can head over to the social forums to interact and create challenges with other Java wizards in the Tech Rocket community! Has your student taken C++, or Python? There are other popular programming languages and game design platforms to learn on Tech Rocket – often times students end up learning several different languages, each with their own useful applications.
Your student is ready to be a millionaire! Well, almost. The courses utilize professional-grade software, so students are truly learning authentic programming languages, game design, and graphic design software. After completing these Tech Rocket courses, students will have proficient working knowledge of that programming language or game design platform, but to become an expert, they must keep working and perfecting their practice!
